Ensuring your friends make it safely

We take great care in packaging every plant to ensure it arrives healthy and ready to thrive. Beginning May 15, all orders ship on the first Monday after they're placed, so your plants spend as little time in transit as possible. Each one is securely wrapped with protective materials to minimize stress during shipping, and you'll receive a tracking number so you can follow your new green friend all the way to your door.

Pre-orders

We’d be happy to arrange a preorder or to grow plants for you or your organization at your request! To arrange a pre order or request plants grown to order please contact us.

Handmade Garden Items

We don’t typically ship these items, but they are available for pick up. To view a selection of native bee houses, bluebird houses, and other handmade garden items please contact us to arrange a time to visit the nursery in person or visit our farmers market booth.

Pick Up

Items you have purchased can be picked up for free either at the Crested Butte Farmers Market or at the nursery in Paonia. In 2026, we will be at the Crested Butte Farmers Market on Sundays, May 24 – October 4, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

When ordering, please specify the pick-up location (nursery or farmers market) and then tell us your preferred pick-up date in the “Notes” field. We will contact you soon afterwards to confirm.

Delivery

Delivery within Paonia is free and there is no minimum purchase. Delivery throughout the Western Slope of Colorado is available for larger orders for a fee.

When ordering, please include a preferred delivery date and location in the “Notes” field on the checkout page. We will contact you soon afterwards to confirm.

Shipping Information

  • Plants are shipped either via USPS or UPS. Starting on May 15, we ship on the first Monday following the date of your order. If you would like us to wait to ship until a certain date, please include that information in the “Order Instructions.” If severe weather is expected, we might wait to ship your plants to help ensure their safe arrival.
  • Shipping typically takes about 3 days, but shipping to some locations may take longer.
  • We can ship plants anywhere in the contiguous U.S. except for Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, or Washington.  The restrictions are due to state regulations.
  • We do not ship plants that are in five-gallon pots. Instead, these larger plants are for pick up or delivery only.
  • When your plants arrive, we recommend that you open and inspect the contents right away, give your plants some fresh air and a drink if needed, and place them in a shady spot for a couple of days to begin to acclimate them to their new home. For more tips on caring for your new plants, please see the plant care instructions in the box.

Growing Our Relationship Together

We want your gardens and projects to be successful! Plants are packed securely and with care so that they will arrive safely and in excellent condition. We guarantee that your plants will arrive healthy and ready to thrive. However, accidents can happen during shipping. If your shipment is lost or seriously damaged, please contact us with a photo of the damage, and we will make it right.
We provide detailed and reliable plant care instructions with your shipment, but we cannot be responsible for the health and longevity of your plants after they arrive in your care. If you feel your plants are struggling, feel free to reach out, and we will support you in any way that we can.
