Leafy green and mounding, desert four o’clock is about 1.5 feet tall and spreads to about 3 feet wide. Desert four o’clock’s beautiful magenta blooms open in late afternoon and at night – it is a fantastic addition to a moon garden that attracts many nocturnal pollinators and serves as an important host plant. Its massive root system makes it extremely drought tolerant once established. Loves sandy soil but grows well in clay soil as long as it’s allowed to dry out.
