Beautiful silvery foliage and flowers that are very attractive to many kinds of pollinators. Flowers are small, yellow and inconspicuous. Best grown where is has plenty of room to spread out via its rhizomes. Highly adaptable to a wide variety of soil types and tough conditions. Provides nesting materials/sites for native bees. Smoke from foliage is used ceremonially. Host plant for American Lady and Painted lady Butterfly caterpillars as well as 43 other species of butterfly and moth caterpillars.
