Easy to grow, cheerful wildflower does well in poor soils and is tolerant of drought and deer once established. Not a good fit for wet clay soils, but does great in pretty much any other soil. Reddish brown blooms are loved by native bees and other pollinators. Looks great alongside the yellow prairie coneflower, and these two can cross.
