Goldenrods are an important keystone species that attract many pollinators. Old field goldenrod is one of the more poor soil/drought tolerant goldenrod species. It grows to 2ft. making it also one of the shorter goldenrods with the latest bloom time in the fall. The golden yellow blooms are great for pollinators and the plant itself provides good habitat with its shorter profile.
